Destiny's video from Santa

This is Destiny watching her video email from Santa.

My Mom had Santa send Destiny a video so she wouldn't worry about him getting to her house with all this snow coming in. I had to crop the video apart a bit because it was to long in length to put the whole thing.

good ole days...

The top photo was in the studio and the boys were just NOT participating and I was getting so frustrated about the whole thing. I remember the instant that picture was taken... I wanted to kiss them, but also pop their heads right off their shoulders. It finally worked out and we did get some nice photos, but this is my favorite one. I forgot I scraped them and will find an 8x8 frame to put it on my desk.

The bottom was taken in our apartment and a typical day in our lives back then. Those days were probably some of our best... just the 3 of us and doing good, having fun and not many worries. THAT DIDN'T LAST LONG! Teenagehood came fast and hard.

PINK!

Here is a much better outfit for Destiny and her doll Amanda. I'll keep the purple one here. I think she'll love it cause of the color... she loves her pink.

matching outfits... OH MY!

Here's the first outfit I made for the "girls". This is out of my stash pile. It's a matching fleece jumper for Destiny and Amanda. My first attempt and I pray I get better. I want to get another outfit made by Tuesday for Destiny's 3rd birthday.

A day in the life of an elf... Macy's Dept. Store

Downtown Minneapolis, very tall tree, glass ceiling with a water fall coming out of it. Destiny loved it.This is an elf Destiny almost climbed up on the stage to help. He was spinning with that present on his head and it really bothered her.Grandpa being silly... his normal self.We talked with Mrs. Clause and she told us about Santa's dinner... no wonder he's so fat. Destiny looked at me like... "I want that dinner", all candy.Too cute

This was a great day. I will go again next year.

Thanksgiving

Here's dinner...
First is the Hawaiian turkey. I wrap it in the ti leaves, add the rest of the ingredients and when it's done I shred it. This turkey melts in your mouth... so yummy.
Next, I have the corn souffle, a recipe from my friend Denice. It was a great hit this year. Then we have the cake with attitude. Destiny wanted chocolate cake and I'm not good with that kind of decorating. She loved it anyway. This is another recipe from my friend Amy, best pie I've ever made. The last picture is of the table. I didn't even use my nice dishes this year... oh well, there's next year.

A girl and her purse(s)

Destiny posing with her purses. Daddy Chad gave her a new one and we filled it with all kinds of goodies. She had to see what Gramma was carrying to help.

Trick or Treat

This is the barn dance we went to oh Halloween. This place is far from a barn, it's beautiful. They had tons of food and a live band. It was so much fun. Greg and I worked at the church harvest party first so we picked kid friendly costumes. It was actually warmer for Greg too since the other costumes I wanted to wear was our kimono's from Japan. I of course would have been beautiful... but Greg wanted to stay warm. Here are pictures of other friends, it all was too funny.

Playing while I wait,

Having fun with my photoshop while I wait for my sewing machine designs to download over on the other computer. This is a png file I made and now trying to figure out how to use it, LOL

Packer Greg

This photo was done a while ago, but I still think it is so funny. He really enjoyed it cause it's his Packer colors. I just think it's a very healthy way to take out your frustrations if you are a little miffed at the man. I have better photos below.

photoshop

Here are some photo's I took of the house and some trees around the house. Usually we have more color in our world right now, but with the weather the way it is, it may not happen so I'm making it happen. On the left is the original photo's that I took. On the right is improvements I made and will explain with each photo.

Here we have my house, dull and dreary, but that's the day today anyways. I wanted to brighten it up and just used some hue and saturation for this photo.

This is a tree between our house and the neighbors. I made a selection so only the tree would change, but a little of the Wisteria got it too.

Here is a burning bush, supposed to be bright red right now. Everything is just so dull this year. Again I selected the burning bush and added color, then selected the tree and added color to change the whole look to the photo.

It was fun, I love playing with color and now my world has a little more in it.

School Dayzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

My scrap bookin, sewin and other passions seem to be falling by the side. School has me busy, but I want to say that I'll be doing what I can, as much as I can. School will be out middle of Dec and we'll see where I go from there. It is a semester by semester deal with us considering cost of the whole thing.

Right now I'm working on a photoshop project that I will share... if it comes out right, LOL. I'm really, really enjoying the photoshop class. I like my XHTML class to, just different kind of thinkin and it's not a natural thought process for me. I feel like I struggle more in that class. The teachers are great and working with me so I'll keep trying to hear what they say. When I get my web site done I'll publish the address here and you can go see for your selves if I heard anything, LOL.

Thanks for being there for me...

Recipe card

NOT FAIR! But here is how I did mine. I made a sandwich, pretty paper on the back, cereal stock in the middle and then my recipe card on the front. I'll punch holes and add the covers to our book. I wish I could have put a photo of the recipe, but I need my leaves.

Summer Destiny

I'm having another sleepless night so I thought I would practice some digital scrap booking until I get tired. Destiny is one of my favorite subjects. With this design I played with the text tool mostly. Now I'm onto something we learned in class the other day.

A bit of sunshine

Click on the photo to make the picture bigger.
Here is my little sunshine wearing the dress I made her. She likes it very much and it's so fun hearing her say that. "oh gramma, I love my dress." She wore it to church and the hat stayed on my of the service. She let me take her in the backyard and posed for her photo but this was the cutest one.

Finished

It's finished and some lessons learned for the next one.

I will make sure the embroidery is up towards the top more. I will make sure I put button holes on before I put the decorative seam in, LOL. Otherwise, I really like the finished product. It's hard to see, but the leaves are partially metallic thread. It looks really nice. Then with thoughts of my friend Denice, she loves her shiny... I put some pretty crystals on it. It makes it pop.

I'm going to make another one in black and time myself to see how long it takes to make. Then I'll make one to take to the shop here in town and see what she thinks. Hopefully she will like it and want some for her shop. Then I'll make the basic bags in neutral colors and then some covers to buy separately.

The core

Here's the first part of my new purse. It's made with a study canvas fabric, has a magnet closure, pockets inside and leather straps. My next step will be the cover. This is a bag that can have changeable covers. This will be very durable and easy to match some fun cover fabrics to.

My first speed scrap

It was really fun AND since it's digital... NO MESS! I'll chat a while more with the girls and maybe then get dressed. I don't want hubby finding me in my robe, LOL. Then I'll sew until later this evening when we'll do another speed scrap... Thanks Michele.

Starting fresh

I've been working on my blog and making a fresh start and new look. I've deleted my other blogs because it was to much to keep up with. As my description says, I'll share my treasures and passions here.

I am making my own backgrounds and learning more every time I make a new one. I am learning to create digital designs in school right now. I am really loving it.

So welcome and hope you enjoy.

Swimming

In between storms we went out to the pool for a quick dip... Destiny was having so much fun. It was very cold water but it was so hot outside it felt good. Daddy took the video of us playing.

Vacation to Washington

Here's my Mom & Dad. We went on a day trip to Coeur d'Alene Idaho.

Mom and me having our afternoon beer on their boat and Mom loving MEEEEEE!

Dad loving me at the airport.

My first fish... YUMMY! And YES, I clean what I eat.

Our string of fish. We gave the neighbor 4 of them, LOL.

Mom's famous taco's... I could eat a million of them.

A beautiful day in Washington. This is an Indian gymnasium... just beautiful. We went for a tour and I couldn't believe how beautiful it all is. They pay $10 a month to belong and have access to everything.
